Just a list of some of my favorite art related sites. Enjoy.
- Secret Ingredients Arts - One of the collectives I belong to
- We Make Money Not Art - Art and technology blog - I read this daily. Makes me happy.
- Evolution Arts Collective - Another arts collective I belong to
- Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA) - I have worked here and continue to be involved with this museum.
- YOUNG HAE CHANG - Heavy Industries Presents - Artist who uses words in an interesting format, digitally. I really enjoy his work.
- Tokyo Art Beat - I'm always interested to see what's going on in the international contemporary art world.
- ORGANISM: Making art with living systems - I've recently become fascinated with the idea of art that involves living things like plants and animals.
- Museum of the Essential and Beyond That - Interesting art & artists found here.
- Nam Jun Paik Studios - An artist I've always respected and admired. I have yet to create any video art, but it is in the works...
- The Art Gallery of Renewable Energy - I also enjoy art that is somewhat activist and/or interactive, as well as work that tackles important issues.
- Andy Goldsworthy - Unfortunately, I couldn't find an official Andy Goldsworthy site,(thankfully, there's Wikipedia) but, he is, without a doubt, my favorite sculptor on earth.
- Underwater Sculpture Gallery - An amazing, beautiful and unique project of sculpture made to be placed in a coral reef in Grenada.
- DAVIDBYRNE.COM - another all-time fave - both visual and musical
- Farmwork/Summerwork - An arts workshop I participated in, during August of 2006. While it was probably the hottest and most humid weather I've ever known, the entire week's experience of discussions, yoga, and open creativity, learning and sharing was such an amazing mental breath of fresh air - I thoroughly enjoyed it and I highly recommend it to any artist.
- Matthew Barney - Cremaster - Just because it's weird and I don't understand it. I often love art that I don't quite understand, but am drawn to for reasons I can't explain. It just means I haven't spent enough time looking at it or thinking about it.
- Steampunk - I've recently become a big fan of the Steampunk movement. I think my work is somewhat of a 21st century/computer technology-related cousin of Steampunk. Sort of like in the way that what Steampunk is to Victorian era technology, my art is relative to the past 20 years of computer technology.
- Wooster Collective - The Wooster Collective was founded in 2001. This site is dedicated to showcasing and celebrating ephemeral art placed on streets in cities around the world.
